CLAIM C034 Supported 2026-10-31

GitHub issue #61172 in anthropics/claude-code, opened 2026-05-21 by eliasjamesbermudez, records a report that running /clear in the CLI terminal clears conversation history but does not reset the session name, so the post-clear session is created with the same name as the old one and both sessions appear under the same name in /resume with no way to distinguish them, reported as a regression from version 2.1.89 to version 2.1.146.

Counter-record: Issue remains open as of 2026-10-30 with 17 comments. A bot comment on filing day flagged possible duplicates 27329 and 26082, both already closed; the reporter rebutted that this is a regression since the behavior worked in version 2.1.89 but not 2.1.146. Surveyed comments include reproductions on macOS, Windows and Linux through 2026-10-30 (version 2.1.314), and a later thread debate over whether the name carry-over is intended behavior per the sessions documentation. No maintainer resolution appears in the surveyed thread. Falsification probe: If issue #61172 is deleted without archive, if the author edits the opening body so the quoted lines no longer match verbatim, or if the author or maintainers post a definitive retraction showing the described behavior was mischaracterized, this claim drops to Withdrawn. Audit verification: Verified 100% continuous verbatim substring against official GitHub REST API by scripts/verify_claim_verbatim.py.
