CLAIM C021 Supported 2026-10-28

GitHub issue #93782 in anthropics/claude-code, opened 2026-09-12 by kryan007, records a report that after auto-updating to 2.1.269, text inserted by a voice dictation tool (Wispr Flow, clipboard plus simulated Ctrl+V) is no longer inserted into the Claude Code prompt when Claude Code runs in the VS Code integrated terminal (Remote-WSL), while 2.1.268 in the exact same terminal works.

Verbatim Excerpts from Cited Records
“After auto-updating to **2.1.269**, text inserted by a voice dictation tool (Wispr Flow — clipboard + simulated Ctrl+V) is no longer inserted into the Claude Code prompt **when Claude Code runs in the VS Code integrated terminal (Remote-WSL)**.”

“Running **2.1.268 in the exact same terminal works**, so this is a regression introduced in 2.1.269.”

“So the failure is exactly the intersection *2.1.269 × VS Code integrated terminal*; neither factor alone reproduces it.”

Counter-record: Issue remains open as of 2026-10-28 with 24 comments. Surveyed comments show confirmations across Windows native, Git Bash, Remote-SSH, a different dictation tool (SuperWhisper) and a VS Code fork, with the regression reported surviving into 2.1.270 through 2.1.286. Commenter KamilDev proposed a mechanism (the kitty keyboard protocol turning Shift+Insert into a key code) and a keybinding workaround; sparsification reported the issue solved on their Remote-SSH setup on 2.1.287 by disabling the kitty protocol in remote machine settings; Gabriel-Dalton (2026-10-27) reports the same mechanism in plain Windows Terminal on 2.1.311. No maintainer resolution or author retraction appears in the surveyed thread; the claim documents the original report, not any later fixed state. Falsification probe: If issue #93782 is deleted without archive, if the author edits the opening body so the quoted sentences no longer match verbatim, or if the author or maintainers post a definitive retraction showing the described behavior was mischaracterized, this claim drops to Withdrawn. Audit verification: Verified 100% continuous verbatim substring against official GitHub REST API by scripts/verify_claim_verbatim.py.
